Low Carb Lunch Ideas

Got that dinner menu all set and ready to go for the week, but you still have to think about lunch. With Monday and Tuesday being low carb days let’s talk about some ideas for lunch.
If you like leftovers, always make an extra protein and a vegetable the night before. Soup or chili on Sunday makes great leftovers also. If there's no leftovers, or you don’t like reheated meat, you can always prep your vegetables and go grab your protein from a restaurant. It’s always a good idea to have bag salads ready to go when you’re in a hurry and you can always run to Chick-fil-A or a barbecue restaurant and pick up a protein. Any veggie and meat is the way to go, it doesn’t always have to be a salad, just make sure you pack enough so you’re not hungry.

Another option is a protein wrap. Aldi has a great protein tortilla that you can have as a replacement for a sandwich. I load mine up with spinach, lettuce, turkey, bell peppers, cucumber and any other veggies I can think of. I add a little ranch, or have some on the side to dip it in.
You can also use Romaine lettuce as your wrap to build your sandwich. Jimmy John’s menu has a good “unwich” too. Do the same thing for tacos, your Romaine lettuce is your taco shell.
If you’re in a bind and forgot your lunch, Chick-fil-A salad with grilled nuggets is always a great option. Chipotle now has cauliflower rice with its burrito bowl. So this is an option to keep your carbs down and you can load it with protein. I also like to go and get a three meat plate from a barbecue restaurant with barbecue sauce on the side, and a side of coleslaw. If there’s a great breakfast restaurant close to where you work, you could grab some sausage, bacon, and eggs for lunch.

I always have a bag of Tyson‘s blackened chicken strips in my freezer for the days I don’t want to prepare anything for lunch.
There are some healthy options in the freezer section, like the Healthy Choice bowls. Just remember to check the NET carbs, because this is probably not enough food and you will need to supplement it with something else, like more protein.
Be sure to hit your protein for the day, and your fats should be higher than your goal to help you stay full.
