Super Bowl weekend! This is the big question from new Faster Way Clients this week, “Can I still enjoy the Super Bowl?” Of course you can. The Faster way isn’t about being deprived of enjoying life. It is about making better choices 80-90% of the time and having 0% guilt the other times. You will hear me say “Memories over Macros” often, live your life and enjoy those special occasions. Here are some tips you can use on Sunday or for any special occasion.
Break your fast a little later if you can.
Drink lots of water
If you aren't sure what foods will be served, eat something balanced before you leave so you aren’t starving.
If there are whole food options, pick those first.
The bottom line is you can enjoy the foods and beverages without guilt, and on Monday you get back to tracking those macros. I hope you all enjoy some great food and family time this Sunday.

Something I Learned
This little laundry hack is for those of us who use liquid laundry detergent. This may not be new to you, but it was to me! Did you know the measuring cup lid CAN JUST GO IN THE WASHER? Well I had never thought about it, until i saw someone share it on an Instagram Reel. I would stand there and let the detergent slowly drip out into the washer. Or get inpatient and grab something from the washer and wipe it out, then I would have detergent all on my hands, ugh! I have seen the light guys! Pour the detergent out over the clothes and then just chunk that lid in there with the clothes. I didn’t even realize how much it bothered me until I started doing this. If this is new to you, you're welcome. If you already knew this, you need to tell more people! Side note: if you have your children move the clothes from the washer to the dryer, give them a heads up the lid is in there. My kids thought I had lost my mind, “Mom you wasted the laundry detergent lid again!” I also had to let Bigfoot in on the secret because on the spin cycle the lid rolls around on top sometimes and makes a different noise, so don’t freak your husband out like I did.
Something I’m Loving
I just recently purchased Nuskin ageLOC® Dermatic Effects also known as “the hibiscus firming cream” and I will say I really love the way my skin feels. I have been using the cream for about 5 days so far. It's recommended to apply it twice a day, but I have not been the best about applying it in the morning. I apply it to my inner thighs, chest and neck. These Before and After pictures sold me. This isn’t me, but I will keep you posted!

Nuskin ageLOC® Dermatic Effects is a scientifically designed contouring moisturizer that can help visibly smooth the appearance of fat and cellulite and visibly firm skin. This daily skin smoothing lotion helps visibly contour, hydrate, and bring youth-renewing benefits to your body. If you use the link you will receive a 10% discount.
This Week on the Menu Recipes
Super bowl food - if you want a healthy choice for a Super Bowl party, chicken wings is a great option. Making chicken wings in the oven is actually quite easy. This recipe gives you lots of tips. You could also use an Airfryer, or order take out. Just be mindful of the sauces. I prefer mine dry with salt and pepper! Or order a pizza and enjoy the night!
Cobb Salad - we make this a “build your own salad” night because we all like different things in our salad. In a large bowl I will chop the lettuce and spinach and add carrots. I chop and prepare all the other veggies, meats, eggs so everyone can add what they like. Below I share what I use, but really it can be what your family likes. PS- Chick-Fil-A has a great Cobb Salad.
Veggies:
Cucumbers
Bell peppers
Mushrooms
Tomatoes
Protein:
Cubed ham (purchased in the lunch meat sections at the store)
Bacon pieces (purchased in the salad section at the store)
Boiled eggs
Shrimp Tacos -Great meal for a Low Carb day or Regular Macro day. The Avocado Salsa truly makes this taco!
15 bean soup - If you buy Hurst’s hambeans, the recipe is on the package, we prefer the “Cajun”. Some spices, canned tomatoes and your favorite sausage. Use the Crock pot method and dinner is done!
Swiss Steak - we love this served over rice, and makes great leftovers.
Homemade Pizza - Pizza dough (needs to rise for 1.5 to 2 hours) or use a store bought flatbread. Then add your favorite jar of marinara, or pizza sauce and toppings. We try to recreate Mod Pizza, so I have a pizza bar set up and each kid makes their own pizza. Our go to pizza toppings: pepperoni, cooked bacon, ground beef, black olives, onions, bell peppers, spinach, and cheese. My daughter-in-law, Cory Jo, took it to the next level last time we had this and made a garlic Italian seasoning butter sauce and brushed the crust, so good! I highly recommend it.
Ribs and Pasta Salad -I know this is not the most Friendly FASTer WAY menu choice. MY daughter loves ribs so I’m going to make the teenage girl happy. I bought the prepackaged, pre-cooked ribs from Costco, in the freezer section by the cheese. The brand is “Curly’s”. The Ribs aren't a bad choice for dinner, but the Pasta salad she wants is definitely not gluten free, also known as “Suddenly Salad”. I’m going to add a baked potato and a salad for some better choices.
