Hey guys, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m going to change the format of my blog a little bit to include a variety of things. The family menu will still be included but I’m also going to include something new or something that I have learned recently that you might find useful. I also want to include something that I love, this might be clothing, products, food, or really anything that I think is awesome. I hope you find these new topics helpful.
On the menu this week

Recipes included at the bottom
Something I Learned
Something I learned recently was how many things magnesium helps with. No joke! Some of my coworkers will joke and say are you talking about magnesium again, or send me pictures of books they are reading that talk about the benefits of magnesium. I am not a doctor, and things I have learned are from reading articles and trial and error.
But, why magnesium suddenly, well 50% of us are deficient in magnesium. And, if you are high stressed, or have anxiety your chances of being low in magnesium is increased. The reason most of us are deficient is because the foods we are eating are being grown in soil that is depleted of good nutrients. On top of that, stress depletes the magnesium you do have.
Things magnesium can help with
Magnesium Is Involved in Hundreds of Biochemical Reactions in Your Body
It May Boost Exercise Performance
Magnesium Fights Depression
It Has Benefits Against Type 2 Diabetes
Magnesium Can Lower Blood Pressure
It Has Anti-Inflammatory Benefits
Magnesium Can Help Prevent Migraines
It Reduces Insulin Resistance
Magnesium Improves PMS Symptoms
There are lots of options to supplement magnesium, but be careful to not over do it. Too much magnesium can cause diarrhea. You can find gummies, pills, powder, or you can soak your feet or take a bath. I personally bought the “Calm” gummies, which are safe for kids and I add magnesium flakes to my bath. If you have any of the symptoms listed above, do some research, and ask your doctor about incorporating more magnesium daily.
Something I’m Loving
Right now I am loving the Pomifera oils. My mom got me Rose Anti-Aging, Brightening Vitamin-C Serum and Rejuvenating Youth Serum for Christmas and my skin feels amazing. The oils dry quickly and I haven’t had any breakouts. So many healing powers in all natural oils. I’m personally hoping to see some improvement with anti-aging and some sunspots. They have many other products. I know my parents use the Hydrating Body Lotion.
This Week on the Menu Recipes
Spaghetti and salad - this could be your family Spaghetti recipe, or you could use this One-Pot Spaghetti Recipe (this one takes a little more time). I will use a gluten free noodle for FWTFL.
Loaded Salads - The kids decide on a meat (protein) and we add it to a salad. We do breaded chicken strips, you could do blackened chicken strips, popcorn chicken, chicken fries. All those things are in the freezer section. You could bake/grill your own chicken breast as a healthier option. My favorite is the Panko Breaded Shrimp from Costco. See tips from Sunday for the salad.
Teenager Tip: If they need MORE food, I will include a baked potato, and stop and pick up chopped or sliced beef from a BBQ restaurant as a Protein option.
Spaghetti squash burrito bowl -Spaghetti Squash Burrito Bowls are roasted spaghetti squash halves stuffed with a southwestern veggie filling and melty cheese! Serve with your favorite burrito toppings
Shepherd's Pie - we don’t include the corn, Bigfoot is not a fan of corn.
Homemade Hamburgers - Burgers at home. Load it up with all your favorite toppings; bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato ,onions, pickles etc. You could even make it a double meat, just go bunless and enjoy!
Southwestern egg rolls - Think Chili’s appetizer Menu, but healthier.
Loaded Baked Potatoes - You can always go to a BBQ place and order this. But suggestion to FWTFL clients (yes we eat potatoes!!) or anyone wanting a little healthier option. I cook the potatoes at home. This helps me control the portion and the toppings, and I can trade it out for a sweet potato. I will stop and get sliced brisket or chopped beef from a BBQ place with sauce on the side to make the potato “Loaded”. This can be something you get at the grocery store, but they have the BBQ sauce already mixed in. You can do any protein you like. Add your favorite baked potato toppings with your protein and enjoy!
