Hey guys! We are counting down to Christmas! This time of year can be busy and stressful. Best way to stay healthy and energized is to pre-plan those healthy whole food meals. Don’t fall into the trap of getting fast food because it is just easier! It's not fuel your body needs to perform at its highest the next day, which makes the next day harder, then it snowballs!
Cooking whole food dinners at home takes 30 minutes or less. How much time do you spend driving to the fast food place, waiting in the drive thru, then driving home. Way more than 30 minutes! Take 1 day and meal pre-prep, or use some of the crockpot options to save more time. We can do this! Keep fueling your body and stay healthy through the Holiday season!
Now what you are all here for; DINNER IDEAS!
Here’s our plans for the week:

Surf and Turf - Pick your steak of choice, grill it, cook it inside whatever suits you. Same with the shrimp, do you like it boiled, sauteed, do you like the panko shrimp (from Costco is the BEST!). You could include a Baked potato or a sweet potato with your favorite vegetable to get those carbs in. Cook extra steak and shrimp for tomorrow's Low carb lunch.
Homemade Hamburgers - (Low carb day FWTFL) - Burgers at home. Load it up with all your favorite toppings; bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato ,onions, pickles etc. You could even make it a double meat, just go bunless and enjoy!
Nachos - Let’s be real, this is just beef tacos on tortilla chips: Taco meat, beans, guacamole taco toppings. Kids like to use Doritos also. For a low carb day, you can use gluten Free chips (check the servings), low carb tortilla or corn, or make it a Taco Salad!
15 bean soup - If you buy Hurst’s hambeens, the recipe is on the package, we prefer the “Cajun”. Some spices, canned tomatoes and your favorite sausage. Use the Crock pot method, dinner is done!
Beef Stew - you may have your own recipe, but I linked my Mom’s if you need one. She always made hers with potatoes, carrots, onions, and tomato sauce. The longer you cook it the more tender the meat. So this isn’t your 30 min meal. If you have a busy night, you may want to save it for the weekend.
Baked potato soup - Let’s be clear, this is NOT FWTFL approved! So I put it on Saturday which is a Feast day, when we bump up our macros and include Treats. This is a family favorite, and they also enjoy the leftovers. I usually double the potatoes, but not the other ingredients so there is enough for our family of 5, sometimes 7. Be sure to add your protein in throughout the day.
Hope these tips were helpful!
