What’s for Dinner?

Here we are back to the grind! I don't know about you but his week has flown by. Getting back into the routine of work and school for the kids was not easy, but I know next week will be much better.
As most of you know, I track my macros and carb cycle with the FASTer Way each day. Tracking your macros can become time consuming at first, but once it becomes a habit and you find a good routine, it takes less and less time. Here are some tips to save time and help you plan for success:
Don’t leave your daily macros to chance. Plan your macros the night before, do multiple days at a time if possible. Log your dinner 1st, then build your lunch and snacks off your remaining macros. I take my family's dinner menu and add all the dinners for the week on Sunday night, and usually 2-3 lunches for the week.
Use the “copy to date” feature in MyFitnessPal if you eat the same things. Maybe you have a salad and chicken with a protein shake every Tuesday, you can use the “copy to date” feature.
If you know that you struggle to hit your protein each day, make sure you have things available as snacks to fill in the gaps. Same with carbs, if that’s hard for you, find the things you like and have those available.
If you have plans to eat out, plan ahead and look for the menu online, MyFitnessPal may already have the dishes loaded, but if not you can find something close.
This week on the Menu

Steak, baked potato, salad - Pick your steak of choice, grill it, cook it inside, or whatever suits you. You could include a baked potato or a sweet potato with your favorite vegetable/salad to get those carbs in. Cook an extra steak and have it with the leftover salad for tomorrow's low carb lunch.
Keto Pork Chops - this recipe was recommended by a FASTer Way client, and said it was out of this world. Cooking the Pork Chops in the AirFryer is an idea also. Thanks Leah.
Sausages and Cabbage - You can use your favorite sausage, we prefer Holmes with jalapenos. I also use Avocado oil to cook the cabbage to include a healthy fat.
Pot Roast in the Crockpot - This is a simple crock pot meal, a chuck roast with potatoes and carrots, super simple and an easy weekday meal! Depending on time, you could sear the roast before adding it to the crockpot. But let's be honest, the majority of the time, I chuck the frozen roast in the crock pot before work, and still turns out great.
Chicken Piccata with Lemon sauce - this was delicious. I used chicken stock, not the wine, and I was out of hot sauce and Parmesan. So I used a little cayenne pepper and shredded cheese instead. Still turned out great. I served it with rice and broccoli. SIDE NOTE: Bigfoot and the kids prefer chicken prepared this way for everything now. (tacos, chicken parms, replaced baked chicken) Also, this chicken in the AirFryer or microwave the next day is a winner. Bigfoot doesn’t normally eat reheated meat, but this is one of the few meats he will.
Chipotle Bowls/Burritos - I love me some Chipotle! So I searched pinterest for the copycat Chicken recipe, Cilantro Lime Rice, and Corn Salsa. I have found another short cut with the chicken. Use the Tyson’s Blackened Chicken (in the freezer section)and cut your prep time down. Open a can of black beans, and you have Chipotle Bowls at home! Bigfoot and boys prefer it as a burrito. OR go to Chipotle!
Homemade Pizza - Pizza dough (needs to rise for 1.5 to 2 hours) or use a store bought flatbread. Then add your favorite jar of marinara, or pizza sauce and toppings. We try to recreate Mod Pizza, so I have a pizza bar set up and each kid makes their own pizza. Our go to pizza toppings: pepperoni, cooked bacon, ground beef, black olives, onions, bell peppers, spinach, and cheese. My daughter-in-law, Cory Jo, took it to the next level last time we had this and made a garlic Italian seasoning butter sauce and brushed the crust, so good! I highly recommend it.

I hope you all have a great week!
