Well it's the last week in December and 2020 is coming to an end. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and got some time to enjoy your family, relax, release, and reflect on the past year. This week everyone will be focusing on setting new goals for 2021. When you set your goals think about how you plan to meet those goals, you have to plan the steps to be successful. If you’re going to get healthy and exercise, you can’t just wish for it, you have to work for it. If you want to get out of debt, what’s your plan to pay your debt off? This week reflect on what was successful for you in 2020 and what you’re planning to carry over. Also, what didn’t work for you and what you want to improve. It's important to share your goals with someone, we all need accountability.
This week on the menu

8 can Taco Soup - busy night this week, this is a go to meal! Tons of flavor and super easy. You could do this in a crock pot, just brown the hamburger meat before.
Shrimp Tacos -Great meal for a low carb day or Regular Macro day. The Avocado Salsa truly makes this taco!
Bacon Guacamole Chicken Bombs Need healthy fats for the day, this is a great option. Use the thicker chicken breast and regular sliced bacon not thick. There are some additional tips in the reviews.
Roasted Lemon and Garlic Chicken Quarters - The chicken quarters make an excellent dish to serve for any day, but cook time is a little longer, so I usually save this for a weekend meal. Cook extra and you can pull it from the bone and have shredded rotisserie chicken for the week. Steamed carrots and baked or mashed potatoes are my kids favorite sides to this meal.
Spaghetti and salad - this could be your family Spaghetti recipe, or you could use this One-Pot Spaghetti Recipe (this one takes a little more time). I will use a gluten free noodle for FWTFL.
Turkey, cabbage, and blackeyed peas - Are we the only ones who eat blackeyed peas for luck and cabbage for money on New Year's Day? My kids think we are! I have no idea where it started, but my mom and dad always made us, my in-laws do the same, maybe it's just an East Texas thing? Who cares, it's a delicious meal, and I’m not taking any chances.
I’m going to cook the Turkey breast from Aldi (Chunk O’Turkey as Bigfoot calls it). I will saute the cabbage and onions just like I do for sausage and cabbage. Blackeyed peas…. I will cheat by buying the canned ones, don’t tell my mom.
Homemade Hamburgers - Burgers at home. I usually have burgers on low carb days, but this week I want it all. So I planned this on our treat day, and I'm not going bunless. Load it up with all your favorite toppings; bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles etc.
If you are ready to get healthy and feel great it’s time to join the FASTer Way. I know a lot of you have some questions and fears holding you back, so let me address some of those questions I’m usually asked.
But what do I eat? Um hello, the menu above. Yes that’s what I eat, Whole Foods and a lot of them.
Do I really have to fast? Fasting for 16 hours is our daily goal. It gives your body time to heal and let your digestive system repair itself so it’s not inflamed. And you sleep for the majority of that fast.
I wake up hungry and go to sleep hungry, how am I supposed to fast? You will gradually build up to the 16 hours. The reason you are always hungry is you’re not feeding your body with the right nutrition and you are probably under-eating. When your body is fueled with Whole Foods and enough of them, you will feel full and satisfied through your fast.
Do I have to work out? Working out is the least important in the FASTer Way. The most important is rest and nutrition with whole foods.
What if I get off track? Then you just get back on track. This is not a fad diet that is ruined by one bad day. It’s something that is sustainable forever.
Who’s gonna answer my questions? Me!! I’m here for accountability and answering all questions you might have, and if I can't answer the question I will ask the head trainers. I will also check in every day and give you new learning to help you understand the process of the FASTer Way.
What other questions do you have? What’s holding you back from feeling great?
